FKB’s Irina Zamyatin successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of four named physicians in a high exposure oral surgery case which involved orthognathic surgery to realign the jaw. The plaintiff alleged that the defendants negligently performed the initial surgery resulting in the need for revision surgery, hardware removal, septal deviation, osteomyelitis, and nerve damage. FKB argued that the care provided by the team of physicians, including a plastic surgeon, oral surgeon, and otolaryngologist, was appropriate and obtained dismissal on behalf of 4 of the named providers and strategically limited the claims against the remaining surgeon.
