FKB’s client is an independent organization which has provided civil legal services to low-income New Yorkers for several decades.  In an underlying eviction proceeding, FKB’s client vacated a default judgment against the plaintiff before withdrawing as counsel due to fundamental differences in the representation.  When Plaintiff brought this action in Kings County Supreme Court against FKB’s client several years after the underlying representation concluded, FKB successfully obtained pre-answer dismissal on statute of limitations and proximate causation grounds.
