Podiatric Malpractice

Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP has successfully defended podiatrists in cases involving wrongful death, failure to properly treat diabetic foot infections resulting in amputations, failure to diagnose cancer, negligently performed bunion and hammertoe surgery as well as almost every conceivable theory against a podiatrist. For example, a recent case that was successfully defended at trial involved the alleged failure to diagnose and treat a fracture resulting in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

FKB attorneys actively work with podiatrists, residency programs, podiatry students and insurance carriers in developing and presenting risk management seminars throughout the country. FKB partner, Neil S. Kornfeld, is on the faculty at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and teaches a course to fourth year podiatry students.

FKB attorneys have also represented podiatrists before the State Education Department, Office of Professional Discipline.

We have successfully defended cases at trial in venues traditionally known as “plaintiff oriented.” Our familiarity with judges, plaintiff’s lawyers and experience in all State Courts and Federal Courts in the greater New York metropolitan area and beyond allow us to consistently achieve successful results.
